Tax on Hoarding at home

  • Contents

Hi,

I have started selling of Handlooms things (Bedsheets, sofacover, towels) from home only. Its a very small business.

For this, I used a small hoarding board at my home main gate.

I want to know is this applicable to pay any kind of tax ?

I am living in Gurgaon, Haryana (India).

Thanks

Sunil

Dear Sunil,

Though, there would not be any service tax liability on this matter.  We would suggest you please check it with Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon as advertisement through hoarding is a subject matter of Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon and if required, then, please seek specific permission from the jurisdictional authority in this regard.  MCG has all powers to grant such permission on payment of nominal fees.  This permission would be location and numbers of hoardings specific.

We hope that above reply would make you aware about the MCG by-laws.
