Delhi VAT - Logo on Tax Invoice or Retail Invoice

  • Contents

Dear Sir,

As per Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, the logo differentiating the packaged food product into veg or non-veg is indicated by a color logo green as veg and brown as non-veg. Is there any such provision in Delhi Value Added Tax Act and Rules. Is there any requirement similar to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India that the Tax Invoice issued to customer should bore the logo to differentiate the product into veg or non-veg. As i understand with reference to sec 50 of DVAT Act 2004 the provision doesnot talk about any requirement as regard logo.

regards,

ganesh

Dear Ganesh,

There is no such provision in DVAT Act read with Rules made thereunder. The veg and non veg logo is required to be affixed/printed/displayed on the packaging/packing of edible/eatable goods according to the ingredient used in such goods. Such logos are not need to be affixed on the face of Invoices issued under DVAT Act.
