refund of custom duty |
||
I bought some jewellery from U.K. in my own name(for personal use) via DHL courier. The DHL courier at the time of delivery collected custom duty from me. Since, the piece of jewellery was not in good condition, the same has to be sent back to the UK retailer via DHL and the UK company has agreed to refund the entire amount along with courier charges. Q However, the custom duty which I have already paid to DHL when it was delivered to me. How do I claim refund for that? Thanks in advance Posts / Replies Showing Replies 1 to 1 of 1 Records Page: 1
Dear Anish, You may write a simple letter/an Application to Commissioner of Customs (Refunds) and submit the proof of importation and exportation of jewellery along with IEC, the payments made in Foreign Currency as well as remittance received by you. The concerned authority may help you out in this matter. Regards, Neelam Taneja, (Executive Consultant).
