2010 (1) TMI 661 - HC - Income TaxAppeal to High Court - The prayer sought for by the petitioners in the present writ petitions is for a larger relief - The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners has submitted that it would suffice if the Appeals, are directed to be disposed of by the second respondent on merits within a specified period - No objection for such an order being passed by the Court - Accordingly the second respondent is directed to dispose of the Appeals on merits and in accordance with law -Hence writ Petitions are disposed of.
The High Court of Madras directed the second respondent to dispose of Appeals in WTA Nos. 1-7 and WTA Nos. 8-14 within ten weeks from the date of the order. The petitioners are to cooperate in the Appeal proceedings. The Writ Petitions and connected Miscellaneous Petitions are disposed of and closed.
