2013 (12) TMI 1171 - Commission - Indian LawsDenial of information - Non maintenance of record - Held that - appellant is seeking information only about those appeals/complaints in which orders have not been passed within sixty days of the hearing by various Information Commissioners. In my opinion, the number of such cases would be small. Hence, it would not be appropriate for any Registry to take the plea that they are not maintaining this information. As the information sought by the appellant can easily be collected by the Registries concerned, the CPIO is hereby directed to revisit the matter and supply a information, IC-wise, in two weeks time - Decided in favour of appellant.
The Central Information Commission directed the CPIO to provide information on appeals/complaints where orders were not passed within sixty days of hearing in the RTI application. The CPIO had initially stated that the Registries were not maintaining this information, but the Commission found this unacceptable and ordered the CPIO to revisit the matter and provide the information within two weeks.
