The High Court of Karnataka at Bangalore considered whether it was permissible to recall a witness and reopen evidence at the end of a trial. The court held that once the prosecution has closed its case and the accused have made their statements, reopening evidence is not allowed. The court set aside the Magistrate's order allowing the recall of the witness and directed the trial court to continue the trial from where it was stayed.
