1999 (12) TMI 67 - SCH - Customs

The Supreme Court of India in a 1999 judgment, with Justices S.P. Bharucha, R.C. Lahoti, and N. Santosh Hegde, held that authorities can pierce the veil of a company to determine if buyer and seller are related persons under Customs Valuation Rules, 1988. The judgment referenced the case of Calcutta Chromotype Ltd. v. Collector of Central Excise, Calcutta. The civil appeal was disposed of with no order as to costs.
