Issues: Dismissal of Special Leave Petitions as infructuous.
In a recent judgment by the Supreme Court, the Hon'ble Justices B.V. Nagarathna and Dipankar Datta presided over the case. The counsel for the petitioners, including the ASG, submitted that the Special Leave Petitions in question had become infructuous and requested their dismissal. The Court, after considering the submissions, dismissed the Special Leave Petitions on the grounds of being rendered infructuous. Consequently, any pending applications were also disposed of as a result of this decision. The judgment was concise and focused solely on the issue of the petitions being infructuous, leading to their dismissal.
