Summary

The Appellate Tribunal CEGAT, CALCUTTA confirmed duty of Rs. 9,15,603.80 and penalty of Rs. 3,600 against the Applicants for manufacturing straight reel hank yarns without paying duty at the spindle stage. The Applicants must deposit the duty amount in six monthly instalments, with the last instalment covering Rs. 1,65,603.80. If they comply, the penalty will be waived. Non-compliance will lead to dismissal of the Appeal without further notice. Compliance to be reviewed on 20-12-1996.
