1 [ 3A. Selection Committee and its procedure. (1) Selection of the Director General shall be made through the Search-cum-Selection Committee consisting of (a) the Chairperson, Competition Commission of India - Chairperson; (b) an officer not below the rank of Joint Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs - Member; (c) an expert-person of eminence nominated by the Central Government - Member. (2) For the purpose of selection of the Director General, the Search-cum-Selection Committee shall- (a) devise its own procedure; and (b) recommend a panel of upto three names. (3) The Director General shall be appointed by the Competition Commission of India out of the panel recommended by the Search-cum-Selection Committee, after obtaining prior approval of the Central Government. ] ************* NOTES:- 1.
