65. Consequential amendments The following amendments (being consequential in nature) shall be made in the Income-tax Act, namely:- (a) in section 119, 154, 177, 189, 267, 271, 271A, 275 and 295, the words and brackets Deputy Commissioner (Appeals) or the , wherever they occur, shall be omitted with effect from the 1st day of October, 1998; (b) in sections 248, 250, 251 and 287, the words and brackets Deputy Commissioner (Appeals) or, as the case may be, the shall be omitted with effect from the 1st day of October, 1998.
