43. Amendment of section 244. In section 244 of the Income-tax Act,- (a) in sub-section (1),- (i) for the words within a period of six months from the date of such order , the words and figures within a period of three months from the end of the month in which such order is passed shall be substituted: (ii) for the words the period of six months aforesaid , the words the period of three months aforesaid shall be substituted; (b) in sub-section (2), for the words and figures six months from the date of the order referred to in section 241 , the words and figures three months from the end of the month in which the order referred to in section 241 is passed shall be substituted.
