MINISTRY OF LAW, JUSTICE AND COMPANY AFFAIRS (Legislative Department) New Delhi, the 7th August, 1978/Sravana 16, 1900 (Saka) The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the President on the 5th August, 1978, and is hereby published for general information: THE TAXATION LAWS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1978 No. 29 OF 1978 [5th August, 1978] An Act further to amend the Income-tax Act, 1961 and the Wealth-tax Act, 1957 BE it enacted by Parliament in the Twenty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows: 1. Short title and commencement. (1) This Act may be called the Taxation Laws (Amendment) Act, 1978. (2) It shall come into force on the 1st day of April, 1979.
