29. Amendment of section 154. In section 154 of the Income-tax Act with effect from the 1st day of October, 1984, (a) for sub-section (1) the following sub-section shall be substituted, namely: (1) With a view to rectifying any mistake apparent from the record, an income-tax authority referred to in section 116 may amend any order passed by it under the provisions of this Act. ; (b) in sub-section (7), for the words from the date of the order sought to be amended , the words from the end of the financial year in which the order sought to be amended was passed shall be substituted.
