MINISTRY OF LAW AND JUSTICE (Legislative Department) New Delhi, the 31st December, 2003/Pausa 10, 1925 (Saka) The following Act of Parliament received the assent of the President on the 30th December, 2003, and is hereby published for general information: THE TAXATION LAWS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2003 No. 54 OF 2003 [30th December, 2003.] An Act further to amend the Income-tax Act, 1961, the Wealth-tax Act, 1957 and the Expenditure-tax Act, 1987. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-fourth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- CHAPTER I PRELIMINARY 1. Short title and commencement. (1) This Act may be called the Taxation Laws (Amendment) Act, 2003. (2) Save as otherwise provided in this Act, it shall be deemed to have come into force on the 8th day of September, 2003.
