Instructions for proper filling up of Commissionerate codes in TR-6 and GAR-7 Challans Trade Notice No. 22/2007-08 dated 7-12-2007 issued by Commissioner of Service Tax, Ahmedabad. Attention of all Service Tax assessees Service Tax collecting Banks is invited to this Commissionerate's earlier Trade Notice No. 4/2004 dated 27-12-2004, wherein location code numbers for Service Tax Commissionerate, Divisions and Ranges were prescribed. It has been noticed that inspite of this many Service Tax assessees are quoting wrong Commissionerate code in TR-6 and GAR-7 challans, which in turn causes error in reporting of Commissionerate-wise revenue. The contents of Trade Notice No. 4/2004 dated 27-12-2007, are reproduced below for reference of all Service Tax assessees Service Tax collecting Banks. 2. The location code No. for Commissionerate, Divisions and Ranges of the Service Tax Commissionerate is as under. For all payments the following codes shall be mentioned. Commissionerate Name : Service Tax Commissionerate, Ahmedabad Commissionerate Code : SD Division Name : Service Tax Division-I. Division Code : SD01 S. No. Range Name Range Code 1. Range I SD0101 2. It is once again reiterated that all Service Tax assessees should take due care while paying their Service Tax, and should mention the correct code of the Commissionerate, in the TR-6 and GAR-7 challans, so that the error in reporting Commissionerate-wise revenue figures is minimized. 4. All Trade Association/Chamber of Commerce and the members of the Regional Advisory Committee are requested to bring this, to the notice of their members/constituents.
