Income-tax Act, 1961 : Order under section 119 : Extension of due date for obtaining tax audit report under section 44AB as well as for filing returns up to March 31, 2006 for assessees in Jammu and Kashmir F. No. 220/1/2005—IT.A-II dated 27th October, 2005. Considering the devastation caused by the earthquake in the State of Jammu and Kashmir, the Central Board of Direct Taxes, in exercise of the powers conferred under section 119 of the Income-tax Act, 1961, hereby extends the due date for obtaining tax audit report under section 44AB of the Income-tax Act as well as for filing of returns of income required to be furnished by 31st October, 2005 to 31st day of March, 2006, in the case of income-tax assessees in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
