Examination/Inspection of imported goods without Delivery Order, however the Docks/CFSs release the cargo only after production of same w.e.f. 22nd June, 2015 - Customs - 25/2015Extract GOVERNMENT OF INDIA OFFICE THE COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS (PORT) CUSTOMS HOUSE, 15/1 STRAND ROAD, KOLKATA-700001 PUBLIC NOTICE 25/2015 SUB:-Examination / Inspection of imported goods without Delivery Order Representations have been received from the trade that imported goods may be allowed to be examined without insistence on production of Delivery Order issued by Shipping Lines which may be verified subsequently at the time of clearance of the goods form the CFS. The issue has also been raised in various meeting like trade Facilitation committee (TFC), Customs Clearance Facilitation Committee (CCFC) etc. Trade has submitted that if the goods are examined by Customs by the time Delivery Order is received from the Shipping Lines, it would not only reduce the cost incurred by the importers but also considerable reduce the well time of the clearance of cargo. 2. In view of he above, it has been decided that in order to facilitate the trade and reduce the transaction cost/dwell time of clearance of cargo, the examination of the goods will be allowed by the Customs Officers without insistence on Delivery Order. As soon as goods are registered for examination, the CFS shall present the goods for examination inspection by the Customs without insistence on Delivery Order. However the Docks/CFSs shall release the cargo only after production of Delivery Order. 3. This facility will be effective from 22 nd June 2015. Any problem faced in this regard may be brought to the Notice of Addl. Commissioner of Customs (AG), Customs House, Kolkata. (Dr. N.K.
