Online Help Centres for queries and e-filing - Service Tax - Trade Facility No. 21/2007Extract Commissioner of Central Excise, Pune-I Trade Facility No. 21/2007 dated 2-8-2007 Attention of the Trade is invited regarding setting up and working of Help Centres w.e.f. 1-7-2005 at the following premises :- Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture, (MCCIA), Post Box No. 525, Tilak Road, Pune 411 002. (Working Days : Monday, Wednesday Friday between 3-5 P.M.) 2. This Help Centre is common for Central Excise, Customs and Service Tax. Two officers (one Superintendent and one Inspector) from the Department are available in the Help Centre to clarify queries relating to Central Excise, Customs and Service Tax matters. A representative of MCCIA is also available in the Help Centre to provide logistic support to the trade. 3. In addition to the above trade facilitation measures, an additional assistance measure, in the form of e-mail, an enquiry system is being put in place to answer queries, which cannot be clarified at the Help Centre, pertaining to trade and industry situated in the jurisdiction of Pune-I Commissionerate. The queries of individual units could be forwarded to the Chamber office who shall forward the same to the Hqrs. Commissionerate Central Excise, Pune I office for getting replies. The senior officer of the Department will process the queries so received and replies will be sent to the Chamber office, which in turn will forward the reply to the individual units concerned. All efforts will be made by the Department to answer such queries within three working days of the receipt of such queries. 5. Besides, it has also been decided that similar procedure may be followed in respect of queries relating to e-filing of returns, e-payment and any systems related queries so that slowly the Department can move into the domain of e-governance. The basic objective of the Help Centre is to help tax payers/small assessee/Importer/Exporter/Service providers to comply with tax laws. The Help Centre not being a forum for grievances redressal, Trade and Industry are advised to use the Public Grievance Committee available in the Commissionerates for such matters. 7. Further, for updating the latest information relating to Central Excise, Service Tax and Customs the Trade is advised to visit the following Departmental website : www.punecenexcise.gov.in 8. All the Trade Associations and Chambers of Commerce and industries are requested to bring the contents of this Trade facility to the Notice of their member constituents.
