Sankrail Jetty, Howrah notified Customs area for loading dry fly ash for export to Bangladesh - Customs - 16/2005Extract Public Notice No. 16/2005 Dated 30/06/2005 Attention of exporters, importers, Custom House agents, steamer agents and all other concerned is hereby invited that in exercise of the power vested in me under Section 8 of the Customs Act, 1962 , I A. Bhattacharyya, Commissioner Customs (Port) do hereby notify 1020 square foot area of Sankrail Jetty, Howrah as described in the Schedule below, as Customs Area for the purpose of loading of dry fly ash only into inland vessels/ barges for export to Banglaesh through riverine route. It is specially mentioned that fly ash of Basel No. A2060 falls under category of Hazardous Wastes prohibited for export as per Schedule 8 of Hazardous Wastes (Management and Handling) Rules, 1989 issued under the Environment (Pollution) Act, 1986 and therefore is prohibited from export vide Notification No. 35/2004-Customs (Nt) . It should, therefore, be ensured that exported material is not of that category and necessary formalities as incorporated in the said rule are complied before exportation. THE SCHEDULE The Sankrail Jetty situated at Sankrail Jute Mill premises (old Belvedere Jute Mill Complex), Sankrail, Howrah 711313 with an area of 1020 square foot has the following boundary: On the East : The wall and the river Hooghly; On the North : The wall of existing old pump house; On the West : The wall and the gate; On the South : The barbed wire fencing The owner of the jetty should always maintain the existing fencing and proper security of the area.
