Change in IEC application format - DGFT - Trade Notice No. 7/AM16

Public Notice No. 58/(2015-2020) dated 01/02/2016 and Trade Notice No. 18.2016 dated 12/02/2016 . For the sake of clarity changes that have been made is captured below:- 1. There is a change in IEC application format and the new format as given in Public Notice No. 58/(2015-2020) dated 01/02/2016 and can be downloaded from our website at url: http://dgftpune.nic.in (or) in Director General of Foreign Trade website at url: http://dgft.gov.in. 2. With effect from 01/04/2016 IEC applications can be filed only in online mode with digital signature. 3. Only 3 supporting documents needs to be up-loaded electronically i.e. (a) PAN (b) cancelled Cheque bearing entity's pre-printed name/bank certificate and (c) digital photograph of the signatory. The online filing biz portal of DIPP in future in addition to Director General of Foreign Trade website. 4. The category of the applicant given in the IE code like that off manufacturer exporter though may get reflected in the subsequent authorizations issued based on IEC will not automatically entitle any one for the benefits that are available to the holder of that particular status i.e. manufacturer status . Hence the authorization holder has to prove it independently to the relevant authority giving any benefit. The Export Promotion Councils are also requested not to rely on IEC status for categorizing any one as manufacturer exporter or service provider. Export Promotion Councils may independently verify their manufacturing capability (or) service tax registration certificate before they endorse the status as manufacturer exporter or service provider as the case may be, in RCMC. 5. Size of the digital photograph should be 3 X 3 cm and the uploaded documents should be in gif. format and jpeg. size should not exceed 5MB. 6. Persons filing application for modification should first do the corresponding changes in Income Tax data base and ROC data base and only then they should file for modification of IEC, by paying ₹ 200/- as fees. Similarly applicants seeking other modification have to pay the processing fees of ₹ 200 and also give corroborative evidence in support of the change sought. 7. There is no provision for issue a deficiency letter (or) mail, for applications filed in online mode and if there is any error the application will get automatically rejected and applicants will have to file a fresh application all over again by paying the fees again.
