In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 45 (1) and 141 (2) of the Customs Act, 1962, I J.P.Singh, Commissioner of Customs (General), Zone-III, Mumbai, do hereby appoint M/s. Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd (MIAPL) Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Mumbai- 400 099, as Custodian (Customs Cargo Service Provider ) of cargo to be imported or exported by all Airlines handled by MIAPL for the purpose of safe custody at Air Cargo Complex, Sahar, Andheri , Mumbai, until they are cleared for home consumption or for warehousing or for transshipment or for export in accordance with the provisions laid down under the Customs Act, 1962, and Rules and Regulations made thereunder subject to the following conditions:- (i) The Custodian shall comply with all the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962, especially those in Chapter VI and VII of the said Act and Rules and Regulations notified in this regard such as Handling of Cargo in Customs Areas Regulations,2009 issued vide Notification No.26/2009-Customs (N.T.) dated 17th March,2009, by Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, New Delhi, as amended from time to time as are applicable to custodian of goods in Customs Area. (ii) The Custodian shall pay to the Government or the proper officer, on demand, any amount of Customs Duty payable on the imported goods pilfered or not accounted for, as per Section 45(3) of the Customs Act, 1962. (iii) The goods shall be stored in areas as detailed below:- CARGO HANDLED/STORAGE AREA EXTENT OF AREA AND TYPE OF CARG HANDLED MODULE -I (Export Shed) Area occupied by M/s Mumbai International Airport Private Limited for Export Cargo MODULE -II (Light Shed) Entire Area occupied by MIAPL for Light Import Cargo MIAL Import Warehouse at Marol Pipeline Road Area admeasuring 1595 Sq.Mtrs ( of the total covered area of 3687 Sq.Mtrs) on' the ground floor and the admeasuring 3151 Sq.Mtrs on the first floor of the building, Behind Hotel Grand Maratha, Sahar, Mumbai-99 for receipt, storage, disposal of uncleared/unclaimed/abandoned international cargo of Air Cargo Complex, Sahar, Mumbai. New Heavy Warehouse Entire Area Occupied by MIAPL for Heavy Import Cargo, Unaccompanied Baggage packages, Transshipment cargo and Precious cargo. Cold Storage Area of M/s MIAPL ltd. Newly constructed Cold Storage Warehouse adjoining Import Heavy shed of M/S MIAPL and measuring 1071.78 sq. mtrs of built up area. 2. The duration of the appointment shall remain valid for a period of 5 years i.e upto 31.12.2020. 3. This Public Notice supersedes Notification No.01/2006 dated 03.05.2006 , Public Notice No.36/2010 , Public Notice No. 16/2013 and their addendums if any.
