Requirement of Licence for import of medical diagnostic x-ray equipment from Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) - reg. - Customs - 12/2014Extract GOVERNMENT OF INDIA OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS CUSTOM HOUSE, THOOTHUKUDI : 628 004 Dated 24.07.2014 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 12/2014 Sub: Requirement of Licence for import of medical diagnostic x-ray equipment from Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) - reg. Head of the Radiation Safety Division of the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) has intimated that only 'valid type-approved and NOC-validated' diagnostic x-ray equipment can be marketed and used in the country. In addition, Licence from AERB is required for handling, i.e. manufacture, possess, store, use, transfer by sale or otherwise, export, import or dispose of radiation source (radioactive material or radiation generating equipment) under the provisions of Atomic Energy (Radiation Protection) Rules, 2004. 2. All importers of x-ray equipment are advised to obtain necessary licences and also advise their customers about the requirement of licence from AERB. Issued from File C.
