Several representations have been received from the Airlines at Bangalore requesting for dispensing with the practice of submitting EP copies of Shipping Bills along with EGM. 2. The practice hitherto followed is that the EP copies of SBS, received by the Airlines from the CHA, are endorsed with Flight Number and EGM Number and then handed over to the Superintendent, EGM along with a covering letter and the EGM, containing Airway Bill No., No. of packages, Flight number, EGM No., and shipping bill reference. The Superintendent verifies the EP copy with the EGM submitted by the Airlines and hands over the same to CHA. It is also noticed that some of the Airlines are not giving the Shipping Bill number in the EGM. 3. The matter has been examined in the light of representations received from the Airlines and the practice followed in other formations. It has been decided that the airlines need not submit EP copies of Shipping Bill with EGM if the EGM contains Airway Bill Number, No. of packages, Flight Number, EGM number and all the requisite details of Shipping Bill. In such cases, the Airlines may return the EP copy directly to CHA/ exporters with requisite details. However, in cases where the EGM does not contain the above said details, the existing practice shall continue. 4. Above is brought to the notice of all concerned for information and due compliance.
