Attention of all importers, members of trade and industry is invited to the fact that a one time exception has been approved by the Ministry regarding the transit of third country goods from Nepal to Third countries via Kolkata Port for the goods arrived from Nepal under CT D procedure and lying at Kolkata Port for export. In this regard, all the exporters of Nepal are required to submit a revised declaration to the following effect:- I/We declare that the goods entered herein are for export from Nepal to countries other than India and shall not be diverted enroute to India or retained in India Upon the declaration in the CTD being amended, and following other due processes as laid down in the Treaty of Transit, the pending transit consignments from Nepal for export shall be cleared at the earliest. As regards future cases of transit of third country goods from Nepal via Kolkata Port, process has been initiated for amendment of the Memorandum to the Protocol of the Treaty of Transit and to bilaterally agree upon revised procedure.
