No. S/9 Misc- 12/2011 GVC Date : 10.01.2013 Public Notice No. 73/2013 Subject : Functional Control of Special Valuation Branches regarding Attention is invited to the Board s Circular No. 29/2012 Customs dated 07.12.2012 issued under F. No. 465/12/2010 Cus. V, wherein functioning of Special Valuation Branches was reviewed by the Board with a view to strengthen their working. 2. Accordingly, it is brought to the notice of the trade and industry/stakeholders that, consequent to Board s Circular, the presently existing SVB Section of New Custom House, Mumbai has come under the functional control of Directorate General of Valuation w.e.f. 01.01.2013. The DGOV shall monitor the pendency, approve the initiation of inquiries and supervise the investigation in all of the SVB cases. 3. Upon completion of investigation in a case, the Asstt./Dy. Commissioner of Customs, SVB, Mumbai will issue an order for determination of value under Section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962. The order will be sent to the Importer concerned, the Custom House which had referred the case and to DGOV. 4. The work relating to review, appeal and other legal matters arising out of cases investigated and orders passed by the Asstt./Dy.
