It is brought to the notice of various Trade Associations and other related agencies that as communicated by the Inspector General and Commissioner of Stamps in Karnataka, Bangalore, in terms of Article No.24 of Karnataka Stamp Schedule of the Karnataka Stamp Act, 1957, Delivery Orders issued by the carriers in respect of imported goods are leviable to Stamp Duty at prescribed rates. The collection of Stamp Duty has commenced with effect from 01.07.2013. Extract of Article No.24 in Karnataka Stamp Schedule of the Karnataka Stamp Act, 1957, as received from the Inspector General of Registration and Commissioner of Stamps in Karnataka, is enclosed for reference.
