BUILDING : QUEENS ROAD POST BOX NO 5400, BANGALORE-1 PUBLIC NOTICE NO: 112/2005 Date: 06/09/2005 Sub: Bank Realisation Certificate (BRC) Entry for Drawback Shipping Bills: Amendment of ICES software clarification - Reg. Attention of the Importers, Exporters, Custom House Agents and the Trade is invited to this Office Public Notice No. 64/2005 dated 19-5-2005 informing waiver of declaration in Form GR/SDF/PP/SOFTEX in respect of export of goods and software of value up to US$ 25,000 or its equivalent. It was informed in the said Public Notice that a BRC verification module has been introduced for monitoring of the bank realization of the export proceeds in drawback cases. The new BRC module provided for data entry of the BRC s of drawback shipping bills where the exports were affected on or after 01-04-2004. Consequent to the issue of the said instruction, the Central Board of Excise and Customs has received representations from the Trade about hardship caused to the exporters on account of blocking of Drawback to the exporters who have not submitted the BRCs for the previous drawback exports. This is for information of all concerned that as the said issue is under examination by the Board, the operation of the BRC module (which was started vide the aforesaid Public Notice No.64/05 dated 19-5-05 has been) has been suspended until further notice.
