Trade has represented that they are facing problems for export for spices packed in gunny bags under DEPB - Customs - 61/2000Extract OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER OF CUSTOMS (EXPORT PROMOTION) NEW CUSTOM HOUSE, BALLARD ESTATE, MUMBAI-1 F.No. S/16-Misc.623/2000-Gr. VII(DEPB) Date: 30-05-2000 P.N. No. 61/2000 Trade has represented that they are facing problems for export for spices packed in gunny bags under DEPB Scheme. Credit @1% is available under S.No. 22 of Product Group of Miscellaneous items of DEPB rate list in respect of those export products which are covered under standard input output norms and for which DEPB rates have been notified. SION for spices are fixed as per S.NO. E-43 of Food Products Group and packing of LDPE/HDPE/PP Granules/Paper Board/Craft paper only are specified. Gunny bags are not specified as packing material in said SION. Therefore credit under DEPB Scheme under S.No. 22 of Miscellaneous Product Group does not appear to be admissible in respect of spices packed in gunny bags. The Shipping Bills of goods packed in jute bags shall be assessed provisionally and credit will be allowed after amendment of SION by DGFT or after suitable clarification from DGFT in this regard. This Public Notice is equally applicable for JNPT, Nhava Sheva Custom House, Raigad and Air Cargo Commissionerate, Customs, Andheri(E), Mumbai. Sd/ (30-05-2000) (R.
