Attention of the trade and industry and Authorized Economic Operators is invited to this Office Public Notice No. 21/2016 dated 01.08.2016 detailing the Scheme and the benefits of the Revised Authorized Economic Operator Scheme (AEO) programme, introduced vide CBEC Circular No. 33/2016 Customs dated 22.07.2016. 2. In terms of the above Circular, All Custom Houses will appoint a Client Relationship Manager (CRM) at the level of Deputy/Assistant Commissioner as a single point of interaction with them. The CRM would act as voice of the AEO within Customs in relation to legitimate concerns and issues of AEO and would assist in getting procedural and operational issues resolved by coordinating with different sections within Customs as well as other stakeholders. 3. In terms of the above and in order to facilitate the trade and industry and Authorized Economic Operators, Smt. Priya Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Customs, Air Cargo Complex, Kempegowda International Airport, Devanahalli, Bengaluru- 560 300 has been nominated as the Client Relationship Manager for the Air Cargo Complex, KIAL, Devanahalli, Bengaluru. Further, Customs Notification No. 134/2016-Customs (N.T.) dated 02.11.2016 and 135/2016-Customs (N.T.) dated 02.11.2016 have been issued permitting importers certified under Authorized Economic Operator programme as AEO (Tier-Two) and AEO (Tier-Three) to make deferred payment of duty, w.e.f. 16.11.2016, as detailed vide CBEC Circular No. 52/2016-cus dated 15.11.2016. 5. As a measure of further facilitation, the Board vide Circular No. 5/2017-Cus. dated 28.02.2017 has exempted those exporters who have been accorded Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certificate (Tier-Two Tier- Three) in terms of Circular No. 33/2016- Customs dated 22.07.2016, from the requirements of drawal of samples for the purpose of grant of drawback, except in case of any specific information or intelligence. 6. Members of the Trade, Industry and AEOs are requested to contact the above CRM for any clarifications, help, assistance, facility on AEO matters and opt for the AEO scheme and avail host of benefits extended there under. 7.
