Dated: 26 July 2017 PUBLIC NOTICE No 16/2017 Subject: Nomination of Nodal Officer to take over pending Brand Rate Applications Reg.. *** Attention of all Customs Brokers, Exporters, Importers, members of the Trade and other stake holders is invited to Public Notice No 12/2017 dated 05.07.2017 issued by this office in respect of fixation of Brand Rate of Drawback under Rule 6 and Rule 7 of the Customs, Central Excise Duties and Service Tax Drawback Rules, 1995, in the GST scenario. 2. Accordingly, the work pertaining to fixation of Brand Rate will be dealt by the Customs Commissionerate having jurisdiction over the place of export from where the export of goods has taken place. In case the exports have taken place from more than one place, the exporter shall file brand rate application with the Principal Commissioner/Commissioner of Customs having jurisdiction over any one of the place of export. 3. Further, the applications already filed with Central Excise formations prior to 01.07.2017 and pending shall be transferred along with all relevant documents to the Principal Commissioner/Commissioner of Customs having jurisdiction over the place of export. In case an already filed application relates to exports from multiple places, the application should be transferred to the Principal Commissioner/Commissioner of Customs having jurisdiction over any one of the places of export as per the choice of the exporter. 4. In order to ensure smooth transfer of work from Central Excise/Central Tax Commissionerates to Air Cargo Complex, the Deputy/Assistant Commissioner of Customs (Technical), Air Cargo Complex, Bengaluru, is nominated as the nodal officer to take over the pending Brand Rate applications from the Central Excise/Central Tax formations. 5.
