No.: S 186-1/99A(N) Dated : 03-07-2013 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 21/2013 Attention of the Importers, Exporters, Clearing Agents and all others concerned is invited to this Custom House Public Notice No. 12/13-Cus., dated 01/05/2013 notifying the procedure for movement of vehicles in transit meant for Nepal. The following modifications in the existing procedures are introduced with immediate effect. 1. The competent authority has approved the transit of vehicles that had landed at Kolkata Port/Haldia Port upto 17 th June 2013 to Nepal, on the basis of their own power, in relaxation of Note d under Para 4 of the Protocol with reference to Article VI of the India Nepal Treaty of Transit and following the procedure and other conditions laid down in the said Treaty. 2. Vehicles landed at Kolkata Port/Haldia Port after 17 th June 2013 shall have to be transported, by railway wagons or marine containers or pilfer-proof container trucks or any other trucks, capable of being sealed in a manner that will leave no visible traces of tampering at the option of the importer.
