F.No. EDI-37/2007 CC ACC Dated: 13.11.2006 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 37/2007 Attention of all Importers, CHAs and Members of the trade is invited to Public Notice No. 8/99 dated 04.02.1999 and Para 1 of Public Notice No. 29/98 dated 24.10.1998 issued in respect of filing manual Bills of Entry for certain categories of Imports. Henceforth, following categories of Bills of Entry would be allowed to be processed manually. (i). Cases where unit value of an item is in more than 8 digits. (ii). Goods under ad-hoc exemption order. (iii). Bill of Entry filed in the name of two importers i.e. lessor and lessee. (iv). Bill of Entry filed against particular licence where amendment cannot be done. (v). Import of Air Craft (self flying) where in no air way bill is present. (vi). Import of Gold Bars claiming two notification 62/2004 and 57/2000. (vii) Footwear of retail sale having RSP less than Rs. 250/- or more than Rs. 750/-. (viii). Other cases wherein Bill of Entry cannot be processed through EDI due to problems in ICES or any other reason. 2. In the case of Sr. No.(viii) above, the same would be considered for filing manual Bill of Entry on case to case basis by the System Manager. The problem faced may be reported to AO (EDI Section), who in turn will examine in consultation with the appropriate agency,i.e.,M/s NIC or M/s. Wipro or M/s.
