The above Notification specifying the jurisdictions will come into force from 15.01.2018 . 3. The new jurisdictions of the Chief Commissioner of Customs Central Excise, Thiruvananthapuram, Commissioner of Customs, Cochin, Commissioner of Customs (Prey), Cochin, have been notified by the issue of these notifications. Consequently, the jurisdictions of Commissioner of Customs, Cochin and Commissioner of Customs (Prey) as mentioned in the table below, arc brought to notice by this Public Notice. I. Commissioner of Customs, Cochin Area Designation of officers (a) Port of Cochin. Cochin Airport, Cochin Special Economic Zoneand Customs Formations underthe area under the jurisdictionof Greater Cochin Development Authority. (b) Continental shelf and Exclusive Economic Zone of India facingthe baseline in the State of Kerala to which the Customs Act, 1962, has been extended vide Ministry of External Affair's Notification No.S.O.189(E), dated the 7e' February, 2002. Commissioner of Customs (Preventive), Cochin Area Designation of officers The whole of the (i) State of Kerala; (ii) Union Territory Lakshadweep; (iii) Mahe Commune of the Union, Territory of Puduchcrry Commissioner of Customs (iv) Continental shelf and (Preventive), Exclusive Economic Zone of India Cochin facing the baseline in the State of Kerala to which the Customs Act, 1962. has been extended vide Ministry of External Affair's Notification No.S.O. 189(E). dated the 7th February, 2002. The major changes effected consequent to the issue of the aforesaid notifications are as follows: The following Customs functions presently handled by the Officers of Central Tax and Central Excise will be handled by the Officers of Commissioner of Customs (Preventive), Cochin w .c. f 15.01.2018. i. International Airport and Air Cargo Complex at Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and the proposed International Airport and Air Cargo Complex at Kannur. ii. Kollam Minor Port, Kollam, Beypore Minor Port, Azhikal Minor Port, Kannur and the proposed Vizhinjam Port. iii. Inland Container Depot, Kottayam. iv. Customs related work in SEZ Formations. v. Self Sealing/Factory Stuffing of Containers for export and acceptance of Bond / LUT. vi. Duty free imports by EOU / EHTP/ STP Units, issuance of re-warehousing Certificate, bond to bond transfer, Collection of duty of Customs in case of disposal of Capital Goods (CG) and goods as such by the Unit. Execution of B-17 bond (Common bond for Excise Customs), demand of duty of Customs in case of default in Net Foreign Exchange (NFE), non accountal of goods etc., collection of cost recovery charges, Merchant Overtime (MOT), etc. (Notification No.52/2003-Cus dated 31.03.2003). vii.
