No. FSP/01/2017 CUS Date: 30.10.2018 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 37/2018 Sub:- Observations and concerns regarding Electronic seals used on Export Containers reg. Kind attention of Exporters, Customs Brokers, Members of Trade and all personnel concerned is invited to the above mentioned subject. 2. The Directorate General of Analytics and Risk Management, Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs, Mumbai, vide letter F. No. IV(33)/74/2017/ RMD Pt. I dated 23.10.2018, informed that the export data tagged with the RFID e-seals procured from M/s Leghorn Group, Italy by some of the authorised vendors were found readable by the RFID readers, even when they were not in the locked condition and could be scanned at a distance of few meters without being in a locked condition. 3. RFID e-seals supplied by M/s Leghorn Group, Italy and distributed by the following three authorized vendors were found to have not complied with security requirements. i. M/s IB Track Solutions Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru ii. M / s Great Eastern ID Tech Pvt Ltd, Gurgaon, Haryana iii. M/ s Perfect RFID Technologies Ltd., New Delhi 4. This being a serious security issue, the Trade is hereby informed that the use of RFID e-seals manufactured by M/s Leghorn Group, Italy and procured by the three vendors mentioned above is not permitted, with immediate effect, until further orders. 5. The Export Gate Officer at ICTT, Vallarpadam is directed that all the export containers with e-seal are to be verified at the time of scanning for ensuring whether the e-seal is properly locked or not and the concerned Superintendent will take appropriate decision regarding examination of the said container on the basis of the perceived risk parameters, as deemed fit. 6.
