No: S10/20/2017- GP Date 02-Feb-2018 PUBLIC NOTICE 05/2018 Subject: Reorganization of customs Commisionerate, Visakhapatnam consequent to transferring the Customs functions hitherto handled by Central Excise Officers post implementation of GST Regarding. ***** Attention of all Importers, Exporters, Custom House Brokers, Steamer Agents, Custodians/Customs Cargo Service Providers, Trade Associations/Chamber of Commerce, and the Public is invited to the Notification no. 82/2017 Customs (N.T.) dated 24-Aug-2017 issued by the Central Board of Excise and Customs specifying the Jurisdiction of various Commissionerates across the country and the Trade Notice No. 02/2017 dated 25.10.2017 issued by the Chief Commissioner, Visakhapatnam Zone , Visakhapatnam specifying the jurisdiction of Custom House, Visakhapatnam and transfer of Customs functions hitherto handled by Central Excise formations to the jurisdictional Customs formations. 2. According to the above said notification, the area of Jurisdiction under the Principal Commissioner of Customs, Visakhapatnam is as follows: Sl No. Notification No. Area Designation of Officer 1 82/2017-Customs (N.T.) Port of Visakhapatnam, Gangavaram Port, Visakhapatnam International Airport, Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone and the areas under the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation of Visakhapatnam in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Additional Commissioner, or Joint Commissioner, or Deputy Commissioner, or Assistant Commissioner, of Customs working under the control of the Principal Commissioner of Customs, Visakhapatnam. 3. Further in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Board of Excise and Customs, made amendments to notification no. 82/2017-Customs (N.T.) dated 24-Aug-2017, and issued a fresh Notification No. 03/2018-Customs (N.T.) dated 10-Jan-2018 expanding the Area of Jurisdiction under Principal Commissioner of Customs, Visakhapatnam and added the below mentioned areas. Sl. No. Newly added Areas 1 Container Freight Station at Bayyavaram Village, Kasimkota Mandal, Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh 2 Continental Shelf and Exclusive Economic Zone of India facing the baseline in the state of Andhra Pradesh to which Customs Act, 1962 has been extended vide Ministry of External Affairs notification number S.O. 189 (E), dated the 7th February, 2002. 4. As per the Notification No. 119/2017-Customs (N.T.) dated 28-Dec-2017 the above mentioned areas of Jurisdiction under the control of Principal Commissioner of Customs, Visakhapatnam would be effective from 15-Jan-2018. 5. The Customs work which is presently being handled by the Central Tax formations under the Visakhapatnam Custom House jurisdiction, shall be executed by the jurisdictional officers of the Commissioner of Customs, Custom House, Visakhapatnam with effect from 01.01.2018 i.e. from the date of effect of Notification No. 82/2017-Customs (NT) dated 24.08.2017, as amended.
