Precautions to be taken while filing SEZ online Bills of Entry/Shipping Bills - Customs - PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 05/2018

No. S.Misc.01/2017-18-EDI-ACC Dated: 17/01/2018 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 05/2018 Sub: Precautions to be taken while filing SEZ online Bills of Entry/Shipping Bills - reg. ********** Attention of all the importers, exporters, customs brokers and all trade formations is invited towards problems being faced in integration of SEZ online Bills of Entry with ICEGATE. It is noticed, especially in case of new SEZs, that Bills of Entry are being filed before updation of the SEZ Port Code in Port Code Directory. In such cases SEZ Bills of Entry could not integrate with ICEGATE and get rejected with error code 005 invalid SEZ Site . After Port Code correction, if another new Bill of Entry is filed, then the original Bill of Entry also gets integrated with the IGM. When the importer/custom broker attempts to cancel the original Bill of Entry, since new Bill of Entry is filed, then new Bill of Entry may not integrate with ICEGATE. It is also noticed that on many occasions, Bills of Entry are filed with wrong details viz. IGM No., MA WB No., HA WB No., No. of Packages, weight etc. which results in cancellation of the original Bill of Entry and filing of another Bill of Entry. In such cases also, the new Bill of Entry may not integrate with ICEGATE. In view of the above, all importers/custom brokers are advised that: a) SEZ Bill of Entry should be filed only after ensuring that the concerned SEZ Port Code has been updated in the Directory. b) All details pertaining to the Bill of Entry should be entered correctly in the system and the details should be cross checked with the checklist generated by the system. Discrepancy, if any, should be rectified before submission of the Job Number for generating Bill of Entry. Request for filing of manual Bill of Entry will not be entertained in such cases. (K.
