No. S/16-Misc-43/2018-19/AG- (IMP) Date: 31.12.2018 PUBLIC NOTICE No. 02/2019 Sub: -Online registration of goods through ICEGATE - reg. Attention of the Importers, Officers of Customs, Custom Brokers and all other stakeholders is invited to CBIC Board's Circular No. 40/2017-Cus dated 13.10.2017 available on the CBEC website (http://www.cbic.gov.in/Customs- Circulars-Instructions), in relation to introduction and implementation of paperless process under SWIFT and uploading of supportive documents. 2. In the process of further extending trade facilitation measure, the online facility for registration of goods through ICEGATE website has been made operational. The importers/Custom Brokers have now been given the option to register the goods online through their login on the ICEGATE website without physically appearing before goods registration officer. The Importer/Custom Broker can exercise the online goods registration facility in respect of all the eligible Bills of Entry after the payment of applicable duties and arrival of goods at the customs station. At the time of online registration of ineligible Bills Of Entry, ICEGATE website would reflect specific error to the importer/ Custom Brokers, if such Bill of Entry is ineligible or not ready for goods registration. 3. Members of trade/importers/Customs brokers should make earnest effort to use this online mode to move towards paperless clearances in import. However, trade still has the option to continue manual registration of goods, in case of difficulty while doing online registration of the goods through ICEGATE. 4. Difficulty, if any, may also be brought to the notice of Deputy/ Asst. Commissioner of Customs in charge of Docks (Import), Mumbai Zone-I or Deputy Asst.
