Dated 13.06.2017 PUBLIC NOTICE No. 07/12017 DATED 13.06.2017 Sub: Change of State Codes in ICES in alignment with Goods and Services Tax- Reg. ***** Attention of the trade and industry, exporters, Importers and All other concerned is invited to implementation of GST in India with effect from 01.07.2017. In this regard, several changes are anticipated in Import/ Export declarations in alignment with proposed GST implementation. 2. Currently in ICES, State Codes are maintained as per RBI list, and is used for declaration in Bills of Entry and Shipping Bills for various purposes. (State of Origin in Shipping Bill and State Code for VAT Registration). 3. As an initial step towards GST implementation, the state codes are being aligned with Census Codes, the ones used for GST purposes. NIC RES package has already been modified to reflect this change. This change is proposed to be implemented from 14.06.2017. The trade is hereby advised to make note of the changes and declare the new code to avoid complications at ICEGATE End.
