TRADE FACILITY NO. 04/2017 Subject: Facility for Online Generation of Rotation Number by Shipping Lines/ Agents and the revised Procedure for the Manual filing and processing of Bills of Entry/ Shipping Bills -reg. Kind attention of exporters, importers, Customs Brokers, Steamer Agents and all other stakeholders is drawn to the Central Board of Excise Customs (CBEC) Circular No.20/2017-Customs, dated 31 May 2017 and Instruction No.06/2017-cus. dated 02 June 2017 ,wherein the Board has stated that the present system for allocation of 'Rotation Number' for vessels has been reviewed. 2. Vide the Circular No.20/2017-Cus. dated 31.05.2017, the Board has intimated that in order to simplify the generation of 'Rotation Number' for vessels, a facility has been developed on ICEGATE for online application and self- generation of Rotation Number under which the Shipping Lines/ Agents are registered with ICEGATE. The details required to be provided in the web-form and the procedure for the authentication and the generation 'Rotation Number' is explained in the circular. 3. Instruction No.06/2017-Cus.dated 02.06.2017 has laid down a procedure for streamlining the processing of manual Bills of Entry and the necessary changes have been made in ICES 1.5 to enable the capture of data as a move towards full digitization. The procedure has been explained in detail in the Board Instruction. 4. Consequent to the above mentioned changes notified by the Board, all the stakeholders are required to take cognisance and comply with the same. 5.
