Attention of all the Custom House Brokers, Exporters/ Importers, Trade, Customs Staff and Stakeholders is invited to the Circular No. 12/2017-Cus dated 31.3.2017 and Public Notice No. 11/2017 dated 4.4.2017 concerning changes in the provisions of Section 46 and 47 of the Customs Act, 1962. 2. The ICEGATE EDI system was functioning erratically on 15.4.2016 due to which the trade has represented that they could not file Bills of Entry as per the period stipulated under Section 46 of the Customs Act, 1962 and Regulation 4 (1) of the Bill of Entry (Forms) Regulations, 1976. 3. As a measure of trade facilitation, it has been decided that for the consignments having entry inward date of 13.4.2017 or 14.4.2017 there will be no charges on late presentation of Bill of Entry till 17.4.2017. However, there will not be any exemption if BE is filed after 17.4.2017 for such consignments. 4. Difficulties faced, if any, may be brought to the notice of the undersigned at the earliest.
