No. S-49/04/2017 EDI Dated: 13.06.2017 PUBLIC NOTICE: 16/2017 Sub: ICES- Declaration of State Code in Bills of Entry and Shipping Bill Reg. Attention of the Importers, Exporters, Custom Brokers and other members of the Trade, is invited to the roll out of GST w.e.f 01.07.2017. 2. As you are aware, currently State codes are maintained in ICES as per RBI list and are being used for declaration in Bills of Entry and Shipping Bills for various purposes ( State of Origin in Shipping Bill and State Code for VAT Registration). 3. In the light of GST implementation, the State codes are being aligned with Census Codes, the ones used for GST purposes. The list of State Codes is given in Annexure attached. NIC RES package has already been modified to reflect this change, which is proposed to be implemented from 14.06.2017. Therefore, the Trade is advised to make note of the changes and declare the new code to avoid declaration at ICEGATE End. 4.
