Special Scheme for allowing Money credit to use of Ethyl Alcohol in specified products Clarification - Regarding Circular No. 21/93-CX.8 Dated 15-12-1993 [From F. No. 267/6/93-CX.8] Government of India Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) New Delhi Subject : Special Scheme for allowing Money credit to use of Ethyl Alcohol in specified products Clarification - Regarding. I am directed to refer to Board's letter F. No. 263/34-89-CX.8, dated 3-10-1989, wherein it was clarified that Money credit will be admissible on specially denatured ethyl alcohol used in the manufacture of Styerence under Rule 57K read with Notification No. 251/87/C.E., dated 1-10-1987, as amended. Representations have been made to the Board that Money credit be allowed on the quantity of denaturant present in such specially cenatured ethyl alcohol. 2. The issue has been examined by the Board. It has been decided that since the Notification refers to ethyl alcohol, it would be appropriate to limit the Modvat credit facility to the ethyl alcohol content only. 3. Trade and field formations may be informed suitably. 4. The receipt of this Circular may please be acknowledged.
