No. S/5-GEN- 12/2011 CFS Management Cell Date: 25 .02.2011 PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 18/2011 (Referred / amended vide P.N.No. 21/2011) Sub: Storing of Hazardous Cargo -Public Notice no. 08/2011 dated 04.02.2011 on Clarifications/modifications in Handling of Cargo in Customs Areas Regulations, 2009 reg. Attention of the Members of Trade and Industry, including all persons responsible for receipt, storage, delivery, dispatch or otherwise handling of imported goods and export goods in any capacity in a Customs area is invited to the Handling of Cargo in Customs Areas Regulations, 2009. 2. Vide Public Notice no. 08/2011 dated 04.02.2011, the guidelines on safety and security of premises where imported or export goods are loaded, unloaded, handled or stored were elaborated. Para 3 of the said PN dealt with the conditions for storing, receiving, dispatch or handling of hazardous cargo. 3. In this regard, it is informed that CFS M/s Navkar-II, Survey no. 137/1A/1, Ajivali Village, Old Mumbai Pune NH-4, Panvel, Dist Raigad, Maharashtra has been authorized to handle, store, receive or dispatch the hazardous cargo w.e.f. 01.03.2011. 4. It is reiterated that no CCSP would be allowed to handle, store, receive or dispatch the hazardous cargo (imported or export) w.e.f. 01.03.2011 unless they are duly authorized for the same by the Customs department. Hence, the CFSs who have not been authorized by Customs should not receive any hazardous cargo after 01.03.2011. The hazardous cargo that is already in lying in the premises of CFSs can be dealt by the respective CFS as per the present practice. 5. All the Shipping Lines or their Agents are also advised that they should take the hazardous cargo only to the authorized CFS and if the said cargo is taken to the other CFS, it would be their responsibility also to move the cargo to the authorized CFS. 6.
