Instruction regarding Consolidated list of animal feed additives/premix/ supplements for Import into India - Customs - Instruction No. 34/2022Extract Instruction No. 34/2022 F. Madam/Sir, Reference is invited to Office Memorandum No. L-110102(2)/2/2016-Trade (E-246) dated 21.12.2022 from the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD) enclosing the consolidated list of certain feed additives / supplements and antibiotics to be used in animal feed. 2. Vide this OM, DAHD has informed about the review undertaken regarding the import of animal feed additives / premix / supplements for import into India and communicated the following: (a) The import of animal feed additives / premix / supplements into India will be regulated strictly as per annexed list. (b) The manufacturer will also put a label on the final pack about its ingredients and about the mandatory requirement of respective withdrawal period, if any as indicated against particular item. (c) This order will be effective from the date of issuance of above said O.M dated 21 12.2022. 3. It is requested that necessary action may be taken to sensitize officers under your jurisdiction regarding the above-mentioned consolidated list of animal feed additives /premix/ supplements for Import into India 4. The difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this instruction may be brought to the notice of the Board. 5. Hindi version follows. The undersigned is directed to refer to above cited subject and to say that the consolidated list of animal feed additives/premix/supplements for Import into India has been reviewed. 2. The consolidated list with addition and deletion of certain feed additives/premix/supplements and antibiotics, to be used in animal feed, is annexed herewith. 3. Further, the manufacturer will also put a label on the final pack about its ingredients and about the mandatory requirement of respective withdrawal period, if any as indicated against particular item. 4. The import of animal feed additives/premix/supplements into India will be regulated strictly as per annexed list. 5. The annexed list of animal feed additives/premix/supplements will be effective from the date of issuance of this O.M. 6. This issues with the approval of the competent authority. However, the import of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) shall be as per the extant rules under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. In broilers withdrawal period of five days should be given before slaughter. Narasin 10% (Feed Grade) As per Codex Alimetarius Maximum residue limit (MRL) should not exceed 50 pg/kg iliver, fat, 15 pg/kg in muscles. Robenidine 10% Premix (Feed Grade) MRL (mg/kg wet tissue) should not exceed 0.80 for liver, 0.35 for kidney, 0.20 for muscle and 1.30 for skin/fat Medicated Feed Additive (Feed Grade) Flavophospholipol 4% 8% Feed Grade Tiamulin Hydrogen Fumerate - 10% Feed Grade Withdrawal period of 72 hours should be followed for use in poultry before slaughter. Bamberomycin 4% and 8% - Feed Grade Recommended at low dosages i.e. 1-2g/ton of feed in poultry Lincomycin 11% - Feed Premix As per Codex Alimetarius Maximum Residue Limit (MRL) should not exceed 100 pg/kg fat, 200 pg/kg in muscles, 500 pg/kg in liver and kidney. Tiamulin 10% Feed Premix Withdrawal period of 72 hours should be followed for use in poultry before slaughter. Virginiamycin 50% -Feed Grade Withdrawal period of 5 days should be followed for use in poultry before slaughter. Kitasamycin 8% feed premix Withdrawal period of 7 days should be followed for use in poultry before slaughter. Avilamycin 10% Feed Grade As per Codex Alimetarius, Maximum residue limit (MRL) should not exceed 2000 pg/kg chicken fat/skin, and 300 pg/kg in liver. Spectinomycin 2.2% feed premix As per Codex Alimetarius Maximum residue limit (MRL) should not exceed 2000 pg/kg in liver, egg, fat, 500 pg/kg in kidney, 500 pg/kg in muscles. Combination of Lincomycin 2.2% (feed premix) and Spectinomycin (feed premix). As mentioned earlier Kitamycin 15% (Feed Grade) Withdrawal period of 7 days should be followed for use in poultry before slaughter. It has been reviewed in the meeting dated 17th May, 2022 of sub-committee to assess and provide recommendations on submission of veterinary vaccines/biological/drugs for policy input under the Expert Committee on Animal Health (ECAH). BMD - Bacitracin Methyl Disalicylate Anticoccidals (Feed Grade) Any combination of Maduramycin and Nicarbazine Maduramycin 1% Reviewed in the meeting dated 17th May, 2022 of sub-committee to assess and provide recommenda-tions on submission of veterinary vaccines/bio-logical/drugs for policy input under the Expert Committee on Animal Health (ECAH). 2. The Maximum Residue Limit/Tolerance limit of above recommended animal feed additives and feed supplements in the final article of food, wherever applicable, shall be as per the Food Safety and Standards (Contaminants, toxins and Residues) Second Amendment Regulations, 2018.
