It has been observed that some AEO applicants are applying for AEO status certificate to Customs Zones where they have no import-export activity / site / locations / branch offices in the jurisdiction of that particular Zone. 2. In this regard, attention is invited to the FAQs for AEO issued by CBIC which is published on AEO web portal and can be accessed at https://aeoindia.gov.in/SourceCode/Website/pdf/downloads/Miscellaneous/FAQs_on_AEO.pdf The clarification regarding the jurisdiction of the applications along with other clarifications have been incorporated in the said FAQ. The FAQ advises the applicants to select the Customs Zone which is being used by them for import or export activity. In case they are using more than one Customs Zone, then the Zone in which the number of Import/Export activity is higher may be selected. 3. It is reiterated that applicants file their AEO application/ registration request online with the concerned Customs Zone, to avoid unnecessary delay in processing the AEO applications. 4.
