Central Excise - Procedure for sponsoring tariff points for discussions at the Zonal Tariff Conferences - Points of CERA objections Circular No. 30/89 Dated 9-5-1989 [From F. No. 112/2/89-CX.3] Government of India Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) Central Board of Excise Customs, New Delhi Subject : Central Excise - Procedure for sponsoring tariff points for discussions at the Zonal Tariff Conferences - Points of CERA objections. It is observed by the Board that the Collectors of Central Excise are sponsoring points, which have already become subject matter of CERA objections, for discussions at different Zonal Tariff Conference. While sponsoring such points, the Collectors are also not indicating as to at what stage such objections are pending and what stand has already been adopted while replying to such objections. 2. The Board desires that the Collectors of Central Excise, while sponsoring points which have already become subject matter of CERA objections, should sent copies of CERA objections and the Departments replies thereto along with their self-contained briefs on such points. The latest position of the CERA objections should also be invariably communicated so that a representative from the Office of the C AG could also be invited to attend the Conference. 3. The above guidelines may please be kept in view while sponsoring such points for tariff Conferences in future.
