Sir, Subject : Central Excise - Excisability or otherwise of a mixture of crude gases referred to as 'Reformed Gas' similar to Water Gas - Clarification regarding. The issue of excisability or otherwise of a mixture of crude gases referred to as 'Reformed Gas' similar to water gas has been examined by the Board in consultation with the Dy. Chief Chemist, CRCL, New Delhi, who had submitted a report to the Board after visiting the factories of M/s. GNVFC, Bharuch and GSFC, Baroda. A copy of Dy. Chief Chemists report is enclosed. The Board desires you to decide the pending cases on these issue expeditiously by applying the ratio of Supreme Court Judgment in the Union Carbide case as such Grade gases appear to be not marketable.
