In compliance to the aforesaid advisory, such requests will henceforth be processed in the following manner: a. The request letter should be accompanied by supporting documents by the Government Agency or any other agency for which the consignment is being imported and NOC from the PQ department/or other department if so required, to draw sample of imported consignment at the port of import. In case the request is made by a person other than importer/agency, an authorization letter of importer/agency should be enclosed with the request. b. The request seeking permission for Customs clearance should be addressed to the jurisdictional Pr. Commissioner or Commissioner of Customs (Port), as the case may be. In exceptional and urgent cases only, the request may directly be considered by the Board. c. The genuineness and veracity of the request and documents furnished by the Applicant shall be verified at the jurisdictional Customs Office and Customs may ask the Applicant/ Importer to supply the supporting documents for verification, if required. d. After being satisfied with the submission made by the Applicant/Importer in the request and the veracity of documents, the request will be forwarded to the Board along-with a verification report, for consideration and approval. 3.
