Sir/Madam, Recently while reviewing a monthly D.O. letter, it was noticed by the Chairperson/ Member(lnv.), C.B.D.T., that many surveys u/s 133A of the I.T. Act, 1961 were conducted in a particular Region and out of these cases, in majority cases the information on the basis of which action u/s 133A were carried out was not found to be true. 2. In view of above, I am directed to say that the cases for surveys need to be selected with better homework. I am also directed to request you to circulate it amongst all the Income Tax Authorities working under your administrative Region. 3. This issues with the approval of the Chairperson/ Member(lnv.).
